Job summary

Duke Health seeks a Respiratory Therapist Advanced - Adult - PRN in Durham, NC. You will perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, manage ventilators, and support noninvasive ventilation, under physician orders for neonatal, pediatric and adult patients.

Responsibilities include airway management, code team participation, and collaboration with physicians and nurses to optimize patient outcomes. A NC RT license and BLS/ACLS/PALS are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 2 year AMA approved respiratory care program (Associates Degree).
• Six months to one year of clinical experience after graduation.
• Licensure as NC RT (RRT) and required certifications (BLS/ACLS/PALS).

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures per physician orders.
• Proficient in mechanical ventilation and noninvasive support.
• Assist with intubation, extubation, and airway management as needed.
• Participate in rounds and patient care planning with the health team.
• Maintain equipment safety and respond to emergencies as a team member.
