Job summary

PORTHAVEN is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner responsible for respiratory therapy, management, rehabilitation, diagnostics, and direct patient care. You will follow schedules, assess patient needs, and document diagnoses while ensuring confidentiality and adherence to hospital policies.

The role requires an Associate Degree with RCP licensure, CPR/BLS and ACLS certifications, and at least one year of acute/subacute respiratory care experience, with a preference for BS in health care.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, an Associate Degree from an accredited school.
• Must be a Graduate of a respiratory care program.
• Bachelor of Science degree in the health care field preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year respiratory experience in an acute and/or subacute unit preferred.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license and CPR/BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Receive and follow schedule/instructions from supervisor and policies.
• Assess signs and symptoms and plan outcomes of care.
• Perform interventions according to plan of care and hospital policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information and report incidents.
• Report changes in respiratory status to supervisor, nurse, and physician as needed.
• Promote good interpersonal communications within the facility.
• Adhere to emergency, safety and infection control procedures.
