Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis, IN, invites you to join the Synthetic Molecule Design and Development (SMDD) team. You will contribute to developing synthetic APIs from pre-clinical to commercialization, applying advanced analytical methods and tackling key technical challenges.

Ideal candidates have expertise in resin characterization, peptide and oligonucleotide synthesis, and experience with chromatography and mass spectrometry.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
• Experience with advanced characterization techniques for particle size and active sites distribution.
• Experience in heterogeneous reaction system characterization and diffusion effects.
• Hands-on synthetic organic chemistry in a lab setting.
• Authorized to work in the United States full-time.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced resin characterization techniques for peptide synthesis.
• Quantify resin diffusion effects on synthesis efficiency.
• Work with solid and liquid phase peptide and oligonucleotide synthesis.
• Apply chromatography, mass spectrometry, optical spectroscopy, and peptide automation.
• Present research at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate ideas into designs and projects.
• Provide regular updates to supervisor and leadership.
