Job summary

Jacintoport-International-LLC is seeking a refrigeration technician to monitor, repair, and maintain reefer containers and Gen-Sets in Houston. The role emphasizes safety, peak equipment performance, and adherence to FMCSA/IICL guidelines.

Qualified candidates will have 2+ years of refrigeration repair experience, a refrigeration certification (or equivalent 3 years in lieu), and the ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced team setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience repairing and maintaining refrigerated containers or industrial refrigeration (required).
• Must possess a current Refrigeration Certification; or 3 years experience without certification.
• Must be able to solder with oxygen and acetylene on copper and brass lines.
• Must be able to read and use a multimeter and megometer.
• Intermediate English (read/write/speak) and ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, overtime, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on refrigeration units/containers and Gen-Sets to ensure peak performance, safety, and longevity.
• Follow IICL guidelines as required to ensure safe operation of reefer equipment.
• Maintain repair records in handheld computer and document causes of malfunctions.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections on container units and Gen-Sets using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in reefer container refrigeration and related systems.
• Monitor and record temperature of reefer loads to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Replace condenser coils, copper tubing and other components using acetylene welding equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Operate material handling equipment (9K forklift) and yard truck as needed.
