Job summary

UMC Health System is seeking a Registered Radiologist Assistant to perform advanced radiologic procedures and provide patient assessment under Radiologist supervision. You will educate patients, document findings, and support high-quality imaging workflow across ED, OR, and inpatient settings.

The role requires ARRT Radiography certification, R.R.A. credential, Texas MRT license, and 2+ years of technologist experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Radiologist Assistant (R.R.A.) educational program.
  • Current ARRT certification in Radiography (R.T.(R)).
  • Minimum of two years of clinical Radiologic Technologist experience prior to R.R.A. program.
  • Experience in fluoroscopy, trauma, surgery or interventional radiology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced radiologic procedures as delegated by supervising Radiologist.
  • Obtain focused histories and assess patient readiness.
  • Explain procedures and provide pre- and post-procedure education.
  • Assist Radiologists during fluoroscopic, diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Function independently within delegated authority in multiple care settings.
  • Monitor patients and respond to changes in condition.
  • Maintain proficiency with imaging equipment and ALARA principles.
  • Prepare rooms and maintain supplies for procedures.
  • Document patient care activities accurately in EMR/RIS/PACS.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure throughput and quality care.
  • Participate in quality improvement, protocols and safety initiatives.
  • Maintain inventory and equipment readiness.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to staff and students.
  • Maintain continuing education to sustain ARRT RRA and Texas licensure.
