Job summary

Hach, a Veralto company, seeks an Advanced Quality Control Technician for our Ames, IA facility on-site. You’ll support product quality and operational excellence by performing lab testing, calibration, documentation, and problem solving with Operations and Technical Support.

You’ll maintain records, prepare standard solutions, release conforming materials, and keep a clean lab. The role requires 2 years of lab experience and a High School Diploma or GED; college chemistry is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of scientific laboratory experience.
• Completion of at least 1 year of college-level chemistry with laboratory coursework.
• Demonstrated proficiency in analytical laboratory techniques, including preparation of standard solutions, dilutions, and titrations.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to document and analyze.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory standard solutions (traceable to N.I.S.T. where possible).
• Release conforming material to operations or stock; halt shipments of nonconforming materials; discuss results with Analytical Services and Operations.
• Maintain records of test results, equipment recertification and calibration, product history files, and on-time delivery and release records.
• Procure and store tested reference samples; file Quality Assurance paperwork; oversee sample storage and disposal after five years.
• Maintain a clean lab area to eliminate contamination.
