Job summary

Blistex Inc. in Oak Brook, IL is seeking a Production Mechanic (Level 3) to maintain all production equipment, perform changeovers, overhauls, corrective repairs, and fabricate parts. The ideal candidate will have 3–4 years of experience in a production maintenance role within manufacturing.

The position operates on the 3rd Shift (Sunday–Thursday, 11 PM–7:30 AM) with base pay $29.95–$33.54 per hour plus shift differential and discretionary bonus; a comprehensive benefits package is included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; trade-related schooling in welding, machine shop, industrial electricity, drafting, PLC, pipe fitting or similar.
• Ability to read and interpret machinery and electrical blueprints/schematics and follow maintenance manuals.
• Ability to read, write and speak English; ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review production schedule at start of shift to determine run and maintenance needs.
• Readjusts line and changes over equipment for product, material, size and pack pattern; run first piece for quality conformance.
• Perform preventive maintenance checks and take corrective action as needed.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and parts as required.
• Monitor equipment for unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions.
• Record production delays and downtime; assist in training lower-level mechanics.
• Provide input on new machinery specifications; fabricate repair parts as needed.
