Job summary

Shape Corp. in Tanner, AL seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to inspect, install, and repair production machines and tool-room equipment. You will build and rebuild equipment for conveyors, mills, and presses, using grinders, welders, drills, and lifts. Emphasis on safety, preventive maintenance, and continuous process improvement.

You will mentor apprentices, guide junior technicians, and coordinate with external resources to keep production running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Follow specified maintenance procedures to install, maintain, and repair production machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing machinery and equipment such as mills and presses.
• Perform preventive maintenance and participate in maintenance scheduling.
• Complete and manage work orders via Plex system.
• Mentor apprentices and coach less experienced team members.
• Interpret drawings and perform advanced equipment troubleshooting.
• Engage in continuous improvement to enhance tooling and equipment.
• Maintain safety practices and communicate safety concerns to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, install, and repair machines used in production and tool room areas.
• Build and rebuild equipment for manufacturing needs, including conveyors and press bases.
• Utilize hand tools, grinders, welders, lifts, lathe, milling machines and drills safely.
• Support production by interfacing with outside resources as needed.
• Develop maintenance procedures and optimize preventive maintenance schedules.
