Position: Advanced Practitioner, Interventional Radiology

Progressive Physician Associates (PPA) is a large interdisciplinary private practice group of over 100 providers that includes Diagnostic Radiologists, Interventional Radiologists, Vascular Surgeons and Advanced Practitioners. We are the exclusive service provider for St. Luke’s University Health Network (SLUHN) in Lehigh Valley, PA. We are proud to partner with SLUHN to support their Radiology Residency Program.

St. Luke’s University Health Network (SLUHN) is a non-profit, regional, fully integrated, nationally recognized network providing services at 16 campuses and more than 350 sites in Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon, Schuylkill, Bucks, Montgomery, Berks, Monroe and Luzerne counties in Pennsylvania and Warren and Hunterdon counties in New Jersey.
Who we are seeking:
An advanced practitioner to provide comprehensive medical /surgical care to patients at multiple sites, in collaboration with physicians and other staff. This includes medical evaluation, treatment and counseling plans for patients and their families. The selected candidates will play an integral part in the development and integration of this service into a currently highly functioning Interventional Radiology practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish a point of contact and clinical presence for the IR division in the hospital. This position will serve as the face of IR on the floors and with patients
- Will evaluate new consults to the IR division and assess for the appropriate procedure. Will coordinate pre- and post-procedure care with the primary service
- Will coordinate preadmission and perioperative management of complex procedures performed on outpatients
- Follow up outpatients who will require longitudinal monitoring and care in IR
- Image guided procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, bone marrow biopsy, lumbar puncture
- Takes active role in ongoing QI/PI activities
- Functions as a mentor and resource providing guidance to coworkers and staff
Current Work Schedule:
- Minimum commitment of 40 hours per week
- Monday through Friday schedule
- No weekends or on-call responsibilities
- Day shift position with a start time between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM
Subject to change based on Network needs
Additional Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience, ER/IR/Hospital experience is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to interface and collaborate with patients, families, staff and providers effectively
- Ability to precept and mentor APP students, medical students, residents, etc
- Maintain knowledge of current medical practices and skills
- The position will require flexibility to travel to any site in the St. Luke’s University Health Network
Educational Requirements/Certifications:
- Current Certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center for Nurse Practitioners'
