The Department of Urology is looking for an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with their Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) or Physician assistant to function as a first assist during surgical procedures. Working collaboratively with Urologist, and the multidisciplinary surgical team you'll assist in robotic cases at the Texas Health Hospital in Frisco and also see patients in the Urology clinic at Frisco. Approximately 60% inpatient rounds and OR with 40% clinic. This position requires an individual that wants to grow in Urology is flexible and has a patient centered approach to care. Additionally, they should have strong communication skills. Veterans are encouraged to apply.
Schedule: 4 10-hr days rotating between clinic and OR

Clinical experience in Urology is strongly preferred. Experience independently managing urology patients in both the outpatient clinic and inpatient setting is highly preferred. Robotic first assist experience is strongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate substantial experience in at least two of the following areas: urology, robotic surgery, and inpatient surgical management.
Graduate of a master’s degree or higher Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician (ARC-PA) accredited Physician Assistant program.
OR
Master’s degree or higher in nursing, documentation of completion of accredited Advanced Practice Education Program. Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population.
Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Certification required. Licensed by the Texas Physician Assistant Board.
OR
Licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by Texas State Board of Nursing. Authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing.
Current applicable Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association or American Red Cross Life Support certification(s) based on UT Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice Providers.
