The Urgent Care APP (NP or PA) is responsible for providing healthcare services to individuals, families, and groups under Sentara Medical Group (SMG). Responsibilities include conducting health assessments, prescribing treatments, performing occupational medicine exams, and procedures in a walk-in Urgent Care setting. Services are provided under the supervision of an assigned physician, with participation in quality assurance, team activities, and resource management.
Requires flexibility for weekends, evenings, holidays, and 12-hour shifts. Must be able to move between regional locations as directed. Ability to work independently with situational awareness is essential. Maintains continuing education credits, prescriptive authority, and acquires necessary clinical competencies. Completion of NRCME within 30 days of employment is expected. Prescription authority is limited to VA staff.
