FLEX APP: Sentara Urgent Care - Suffolk, VA
The Urgent Care APP (NP or PA) is responsible for providing healthcare services to individuals, families, and groups under Sentara Medical Group (SMG). Responsibilities include conducting health assessments, prescribing treatments, performing occupational medicine exams, and procedures in a walk-in Urgent Care center. Services are provided under the supervision of assigned physicians (collaborative agreement). The PA is expected to participate in quality assurance, team activities, and resource management.
Requires flexibility for weekends, evenings, holidays, and 12-hour shifts. Must be able to move between regional Urgent Care locations as directed. Ability to work independently, maintain situational awareness, and deliver quality care and customer service is essential. Continuing education credits must be maintained as per licensing requirements, including prescriptive authority; special clinical competencies may be required. Completion of NRCME within 30 days of employment is expected. Prescription authority is limited to VA staff.
