Horizon Health in Illinois is seeking a PRN Advanced Practice Provider for our Pre-Anesthesia Clinic to optimize patient health before surgery. You will work with a multidisciplinary team in a rural hospital setting, with opportunities to collaborate across specialties and clinics.

The role emphasizes independent practice with strong teamwork, compassionate patient care, and a focus on safe, efficient perioperative assessment and education. Compensation is $75/hr.

Qualifications

• Licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Illinois; willing to obtain Indiana licensure.
• Current CPR-BLS certification.
• Ideal candidate has 3+ years APP experience.
• Patient-centered, compassionate approach to care.

Responsabilités

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including medical histories and physical exams.
• Evaluate health status prior to surgery across cardiovascular, respiratory and neurological systems.
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing including lab work, EKGs, and imaging.
• Educate patients and families about anesthesia and procedural expectations.

Advanced Practice Provider--PRN Pre-Anesthesia Clinic

Horizon Health is looking for a PRN Advanced Practice Provider (APP) towork in our Pre-Anesthesia Clinic.

We are a rural organization that includes a critical access hospital, extensiveoutpatient services, and rural health clinics, but much larger in scopeand size than typical rural organizations. We have advanced technology,new offerings for the communities we serve, strong specialty support,and still have the small-town approach and values that make our organizationso special.

The Advance Practice Provider (APP) will play a vital role in optimizingpatient health prior to surgery while collaborating with a multidisciplinaryteam focused on delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

Pre- Anesthesia Clinic:

• Current license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State ofIllinois. Willing to get Indiana licensure.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation-BLS.
• Preferred three (3) years of Advance Practice Provider experience.
• Compassionate patient centered approach to care.
• Responsibilities include:
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including detailed medical historiesand physical examinations.
  • Evaluate cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and overall healthstatus prior to surgery.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic testing, including lab work, EKGs, and imaging studies.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding anesthesia and proceduralexpectations.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Horizon Health is staffed with 21 primary care physicians and providers,with specialty support in behavioral health, urology, women’s health,general surgery, bariatric surgery, orthopedics, spine surgery, pain management,dermatology, podiatry, wound care, neurology, endocrinology, and cardiology.
• Additionally, we have 13 visiting specialists that see patients in theclinic each month. The hospital has a 24/7 hospitalist service, and wehave two convenient care walk-in clinics.
• We have a provider friendly EMR.
• In 2024/2025, we completed major renovations to our Emergency Department,added primary care clinics in Tilton and Marshall, Illinois, and expandedphysical therapy services into Terre Haute, Indiana.

Compensation: $75/hr.
