Job Summary

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers patient care within the scope of training and approval by the governing board. Works collaboratively with other providers and staff to ensure efficient patient flow and high patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete, detailed health histories, review patient records, develop comprehensive medical assessments, and order appropriate laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies.
• Formulate medical and nursing diagnoses and institute therapy or referrals to appropriate healthcare facilities, agencies, and community resources.
• Administer emergency measures and appropriate stabilization for conditions such as cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, convulsions, poisoning, and allergic reactions.
• Interpret and analyze patient data to determine patient status, management, and treatment.
• Provide instructions and guidance regarding health care and health promotion to patients, families, and significant others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Excellent communicator with staff, patients, and family.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
• ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA Board Certified (with 1 yr ER/UC experience preferred outside of clinical rotations).
• Active and current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of practice, DEA number, and state‑controlled substance certificate as required.
• Able to multi‑task and work independently.
• DOT certification preferred.
• Credentialed to see ages 2 and up.
