Job summary

Yale New Haven Health Urgent Care is seeking experienced Advanced Practice Providers for a flexible per diem role across Connecticut and New York. Earn income while staying connected to high-quality patient care in a trusted health system.

Per diem scheduling is designed around your availability with shifts published ~60 days in advance. You’ll practice at the top of your license, collaborating with physicians and radiology teams in modern facilities with strong operational support.

Qualifications

• One year of urgent care, emergency medicine, or comparable acute care experience preferred.
• Current license to practice in the state.
• DEA registration and board certification as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients in urgent care.
• Develop evidence-based treatment plans.
• Perform incision and drainage, splinting, wound care.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams.
• Deliver patient-centered care focused on safety and quality.

Schedule & Flexibility

We understand that many of our per diem providers maintain primary clinical positions elsewhere. Our scheduling model is intentionally designed to provide flexibility while ensuring consistency for our patients and care teams.

Providers commit to one of the following:

• Minimum of three shifts per month, including at least one weekend shift

OR

• Weekend-only providers commit to a minimum of two full eight-hour weekend shifts per month

Schedules are developed and published approximately 60 days in advance, allowing providers ample time to coordinate their clinical commitments and personal schedules.

Additional shifts, including weekday, evening, and weekend opportunities, may be available.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages
• Develop evidence-based treatment plans
• Incision and drainage
• Splinting
• Wound care
• Other office-based urgent care procedures
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, radiology teams, and clinical support staff
• Deliver a patient-centered experience focused on quality, safety, and service excellence

• Skilled in performing common urgent care procedures

Qualifications

• Current State Medical License
• DEA Registration
• Controlled Substance Registration, as applicable
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Current national certification
• Current ACLS and PALS certification
• Minimum one year of Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, or comparable acute care experience preferred
• Demonstrated experience performing common urgent care procedures, including laceration repair, incision and drainage, splinting, wound care, and foreign body removal
