Job summary

Yale New Haven Health Urgent Care is seeking experienced Advanced Practice Providers for flexible per diem shifts across Connecticut and New York. Join a trusted regional brand and practice at the top of your license with strong clinical support and modern facilities.

Successful candidates will have a current NP/PA license, national certification, ACLS/PALS, and 1+ year Urgent Care or acute care experience. Per diem schedule allows you to tailor shifts to your life and clinical interests.

Qualifications

• Current State Medical License required to practice.
• DEA Registration required.
• Controlled Substance Registration, as applicable.
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current national certification as NP or PA.
• ACLS and PALS certification current.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients across the lifespan in urgent care.
• Develop evidence-based treatment plans.
• Perform urgent care procedures (laceration repair, incision & drainage, splinting, wound care).
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, radiology, and clinical staff.
• Deliver patient-centered care focused on safety and quality.

Schedule & Flexibility

We understand that many of our per diem providers maintain primary clinical positions elsewhere. Our scheduling model is intentionally designed to provide flexibility while ensuring consistency for our patients and care teams.

Providers commit to one of the following:

• Minimum of three shifts per month, including at least one weekend shift

OR

• Weekend-only providers commit to a minimum of two full eight-hour weekend shifts per month

Schedules are developed and published approximately 60 days in advance, allowing providers ample time to coordinate their clinical commitments and personal schedules.

Additional shifts, including weekday, evening, and weekend opportunities, may be available.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages
• Develop evidence-based treatment plans
• Incision and drainage
• Splinting
• Wound care
• Other office-based urgent care procedures
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, radiology teams, and clinical support staff
• Deliver a patient-centered experience focused on quality, safety, and service excellence

• Minimum one year of Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, or comparable acute care experience preferred
• Demonstrated experience performing common urgent care procedures, including laceration repair, incision and drainage, splinting, wound care, and foreign body removal
