Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management in Cleveland is seeking a Physician Assistant or FNP (RNFA or willing to obtain) for a pediatric plastic surgery team at UH Cleveland Medical Center and Westlake. Schedule is 4 x 10-hour days, Monday through Friday, with inpatient/outpatient coverage and independent patient care on the floor and in the ED.

In the outpatient setting, the APP will see new and follow-up patients in multidisciplinary clinics and may act as a surgical first assistant in the OR,

Qualifications

  • Active PA-C license or Ohio-licensed NP eligibility.
  • Willingness to obtain RNFA certification.
  • Experience in pediatric plastic surgery or surgical services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient/outpatient coverage for pediatric plastic surgery.
  • See plastic surgery patients on floor and in ED independently.
  • In outpatient clinics, see new and follow-up patients.
  • Function as a surgical first assistant with suturing.

Job description

Seeking a Physician Assistant or FNP (RNFA or willing to obtain) for the pediatric plastic surgery team at UH Cleveland Medical Center and Westlake locations. The schedule is Monday through Friday (4 10-hour day shifts). The APP will provide inpatient/outpatient coverage and see plastic surgery patients independently on the floor & in the ED as consulted. In the outpatient setting, the APP will see new and follow-up patients, or patients in our multidisciplinary clinics. This position will require the APP to be comfortable with suturing & function as a surgical first assist in the OR. Previous experience on a surgical service is preferred.

A Brief Overview

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for providing quality care for patients and increasing patient access and satisfaction. Standard tasks to be performed by a PA as specified by the Ohio State Board of Medicine and UH entity specific Medical Bylaws.

  • Provides education through role modeling and in-services to meet identified learning needs and to promote professionalism (5%)
  • Advances own professional development through self-directed learning, continuing education and participation in peer review (5%)

  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
