Brown University Health in Providence, RI, seeks an experienced APRN/PA to deliver urgent care services in a high-volume setting. You will assess and treat both adults and children, order labs and imaging, and perform minor procedures while maintaining timely, accurate records.
Position requires a Master’s in an APRN program or PA training, RI licensure, and BLS certification. The role covers day shifts on-site at 66 Branch Ave, with 12-hour workdays, and no driving requirement.
This position is located in Middletown, Rhode Island Reports to the Medical Director and the Director of Operations; will provide compassionate and excellent patient care by performing courteous, efficient, and accurate service. Assists with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations. Mentors clinical personnel, and serves as a liaison with patients, staff, providers, and leadership. Can perform independently and as part of a treatment team.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE: Nurse Practitioner: Master’s degree from an accredited advanced practice program; Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
One of the following current licensures in the State of Rhode Island:
Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree and a graduate of an accredited physician assistant program. Must be certified by NCCPA. Current license as a physician assistant in the State of Rhode Island is required. Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)Knowledge of basic emergency department, internal medicine, generalist, occupational medicine, and family practice procedures required. Organizational and analytical skills necessary to maintain efficient workflow. Ability to adjust responsibilities to accommodate a fast-paced work environment while maintaining excellent customer service and staff interactions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively and courteously deal with patients and families, clients, coworkers, clinical staff and physicians. Progressive thinking for budget, training and quality issues. Strong leadership qualities.
One year of related experience required, two years preferred. Prior Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine experience preferred, some medic or primary care acceptable. Must have experience caring for children ages 18 months and above. Work as acute care hospital, physicians’ office and ancillary healthcare enterprises.
