South Dakota Department of Corrections (Clinical Services) is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the Rapid City Minimum Facility on a part-time basis (~24 hours per week). Position: Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner – part‑time, approximately 24 hours per week at the Rapid City Minimum Facility. Department: South Dakota Department of Corrections (Clinical Services). Salary will be based on experience. Pay grade: MF. The position provides routine and emergency medical care, on‑call assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of offenders in a correctional clinical setting.
All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation, urine drug screen, and the ability to perform the essential functions of the position. Selected candidates must complete a written and practical self‑defense exam, pass CPR to AHA guidelines, and demonstrate the physical ability required for self‑defense tasks. Tuberculosis screening is required of all new employees upon hire.
