Job summary

Seattle Children's Hospital seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to join our Orthopedics & Sports Medicine team. You will lead clinical decision-making for acute pediatric musculoskeletal injuries in urgent care, bridging injury and recovery and reducing ER visits.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, histories and exams, orders and interpretation of tests, and collaboration with physicians and specialists to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing with a pediatric or family NP focus or graduate of PA program.
• One year of experience in pediatric or family-focused clinical area.
• Active licensure as RN/ARNP in WA or PA license in WA; national pediatric or family NP certification or PA certification.
• Active DEA registration.
• BLS required; PALS accepted in lieu of BLS.

• Obtain histories, perform exams, order/interpret tests, prescribe medications and develop treatment plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists and team to deliver safe, high-quality care.

• Hours of operation: Monday through Friday 1pm-10pm PST.

Seattle Children's Hospital is seeking a dedicated and versatile Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join our world-class Orthopedics & Sports Medicine team.

In this role, you will serve as the a lead clinical decision-maker, assuming primary responsibility for the acute management of pediatric musculoskeletal injuries. You will provide expert, front-line care for patients requiring immediate intervention-bridging the gap between injury and recovery without the need for an ER visit.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Management: Provide direct care and assume primary responsibility for clinical management in the urgent care.
• Assessment & Treatment: Obtain patient histories, perform physical examinations, order/interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
• Collaborative Care: Partner with department attending physicians, specialists, and other health care team members to deliver safe, high-quality care.
• Continuity of Care: Direct or participate incase managementand continuing care to ensure seamless patient transitions.
• Innovation & Research: Contribute to departmentalquality improvementprojects and participate in education and research efforts for patients, families, and the medical team.
• Hours of operation: Monday through Friday 1pm-10pm PST.

Required Education and Experience:

• Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program.
• One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area.

Required Credentials:

• For Nurse Practitioners:
• Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington.
• Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner
• For Physician Assistants:
• Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington
• Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
• For All Providers:
• Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals is required at time of hire and to be maintained continuously throughout employment. American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will also be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Professionals.
• Some clinical locations may require American Heart Association Pediatric Life Support training and continuous maintenance of certification.
• Active clinical privileges as an Allied Health Provider at Seattle Children's Hospital must be secured prior to time of hire and must be maintained in good standing and in compliance with all medical staff bylaws, continuously throughout employment.

Preferred:

• Two years experience in advanced practice provider role
• Two years experience in pediatric health care

Compensation Range

$137,321 - $201,961 per year

Note: This position is currently eligible for an off-shift premium of up to 7.5% which would increase the total compensation of this role by an additional $10,299 to $15,147 per year.

This position is eligible for relocation benefit for qualified applicants.

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
