Job description

UVA Health is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) specializing in Vascular Medicine to join our team. The Vascular Medicine team is expanding, adding both physicians and APP positions to the ambulatory team. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside leading vascular medicine specialists in a dynamic care team, providing comprehensive care to patients with vascular conditions such as varicose veins, lymphedema, leg swelling, CVD, venous insufficiency, TOS, PAD, HTN, HLD, DVT/VTE, and more complex conditions including malformations, aortitis/arteritis, and aneurysms.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Patient Care: Conduct evaluations of patients with vascular diseases, including histories and physical exams.
  2. Diagnostic Procedures: Order and interpret ultrasounds, CT scans, MRIs, and other tests.
  3. Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans, including medications, lifestyle modifications, and surgical coordination.
  4. Patient Education: Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and preventive measures.
  5. Collaboration: Work with physicians, radiologists, and healthcare professionals for comprehensive care.
  6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records in the EHR, utilizing dictation and visit recording software.
  7. Travel: Travel to outreach locations (Augusta Specialty and Culpeper) about once a month; travel time is part of clinic hours.

Additional duties include exercising independent judgment, performing procedures within scope, ordering medications, requesting consultations, evaluating patient responses, and participating in educational and review activities. The role may involve supervising students and serving on committees.

Position Details:

Compensation Range: $96,907.20 - $155,043.20 annually.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited graduate nursing or PA program with a master's degree.
  • Virginia licensure or eligibility as an APP (Nurse Practitioner, PA, CRNA, or CNM).
  • Current BLS; PALS/NRP and ACLS as required.
Physical Demands:

Standing, bending, reaching, repetitive motion, lifting 50-100 lbs., and exposure to various hazards.
