Job description

UVA Health is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) specializing in Vascular Medicine to join our esteemed team. The Vascular Medicine team is expanding, adding both physicians and APP positions to the ambulatory team. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside leading vascular medicine specialists in a dynamic care team, providing comprehensive care to patients with vascular conditions such as varicose veins, lymphedema, leg swelling, CVD, venous insufficiency, TOS, PAD, HTN, HLD, DVT/VTE, and more complex conditions like malformations, aortitis, renal aneurysms, Raynaud's with wounds, HHT, and others.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Patient Care: Conduct evaluations of patients with vascular diseases, including medical histories and physical examinations.
  2. Diagnostic Procedures: Order and interpret tests such as ultrasounds, CT scans, and MRIs.
  3. Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans including medications, lifestyle changes, and surgical coordination.
  4. Patient Education: Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and preventive measures.
  5. Collaboration: Work with physicians, radiologists, and healthcare professionals for comprehensive care.
  6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records in the EHR, utilizing dictation and visit recording software.
  7. Travel: Travel to outreach locations (Augusta Specialty and Culpeper) approximately once a month, with travel time considered part of clinic hours.

Additional responsibilities include working with the medical director and team to facilitate care, exercising independent judgment, performing assessments, formulating diagnoses, ordering and interpreting studies, performing procedures within scope, managing medications, and participating in educational and committee activities. The APP may also participate in student and resident education and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures.

Position Details:

Compensation Range: $96,907.20 - $155,043.20 annually.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master's degree.
  • Virginia licensure or license eligibility as an APP (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, etc.), including all credentialing and licensing requirements.
  • Current BLS certification; PALS/NRP and ACLS as required.
Physical Demands:

Includes standing, bending, reaching, repetitive motions, and lifting/pushing/pulling 50-100 lbs. May involve exposure to noise, radiation, infectious materials, etc.
