Since 1976, Vero Orthopaedics has provided orthopaedic and rehabilitative care throughout Florida's Treasure Coast. Our physicians and specialized staff provide comprehensive care for a broad range of orthopaedic injuries and conditions, with services that include clinical, surgical, rehabilitative, diagnostic, and procedural care.

As we celebrate 50 years of serving our community, we continue to grow and are looking for an experienced and motivated Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our team.

Position Overview

This opportunity is open to both Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants interested in working within a collaborative, physician-led orthopaedic practice.

We have opportunities within multiple areas of our practice. The specific physician and clinical assignment may be determined based on the candidate’s experience, clinical interests, and the needs of the practice.

Depending on the assignment, responsibilities may include independent clinic visits, new and established patient evaluations, pre- and postoperative care, in-office procedures, hospital or rehabilitation rounding, surgical assistance, and coordination of ongoing treatment.

We are looking for an APP who demonstrates strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, a collaborative attitude, and a genuine commitment to providing outstanding patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat new and established patients in collaboration with physicians.
  • Obtain patient histories and perform appropriate physical examinations.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Order, review, and interpret diagnostic testing, imaging studies, and laboratory results.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, procedures, medications, recovery expectations, and follow-up care.
  • Provide preoperative and postoperative evaluations and patient management as appropriate.
  • Perform or assist with in-office procedures based on training, competency, and clinical assignment.
  • Assist physicians with surgical procedures when applicable to the position.
  • Round on patients at hospitals or rehabilitation facilities when required.Coordinate care with physicians, therapy providers, imaging staff, nursing staff, surgery scheduling, and other members of the patient's care team.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation within the electronic health record.
  • Participate in call coverage when applicable to the assigned position.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current Florida APRN or Physician Assistant license, or ability to obtain prior to employment.
  • Appropriate national certification based on professional designation.
  • Current DEA registration or ability to obtain, if required for the position.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative clinical team.

Preferred Experience:

Experience in one or more of the following is preferred but not necessarily required:

  • Orthopaedics or musculoskeletal care
  • Surgical or perioperative care
  • Sports medicine
  • Spine
  • Emergency medicine or urgent care
  • Preoperative and postoperative patient management
  • Clinical procedures
  • Surgical first assist

Candidates with other clinical backgrounds that translate well to orthopaedic care are also encouraged to apply.

Schedule

Full-Time | Monday-Friday

Specific hours and responsibilities may vary based on physician assignment, clinic and surgical schedules, rounding responsibilities, and call requirements.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of applicable background screening, credentialing, and drug screening requirements.
