Advanced Practice Provider - Gastroenterology
Job Description Summary

We are seeking a dedicated, experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our expanding Gastroenterology team. This position is primarily outpatient, offering variety and opportunities to broaden your expertise in digestive health.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide care to patients across our Gastroenterology service line, with a focus on outpatient visits

· Collaborate with Supervising Physician, GI Medical Director, and APP colleagues to create individualized treatment plans

· Educate patients and families on diagnoses and ongoing digestive health management

· Work alongside a high performing team of Medical Assistants

Minimum Requirements

· Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program

· Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions Required orLicensed as Physician Assistant by the Virginia Department of Health Professions required

· Gastroenterology or Internal Medicine outpatient experience strongly preferred

· Gastroenterology or Internal Medicine outpatient experience strongly preferred

· Training and familiarity in the use of EPIC (EMR) preferred

Purpose & Scope:

A Nurse Practitioner (NP) employed by VHC Health Physicians (“Physician Group”) is required to complete a NP Agreement with their Collaborating Physician(s). This NP Agreement will describe the NP’s role and function, NP/Physician Relationship, Functions of the NP, Privileges/Procedures, Prescriptive Authority, Documentation Responsibilities and Evaluation process.Overall, the NP will support objectives, budget, performance metrics and medical activities at an Individual level including implementation of quality control standards, risk management and compliance programs.

Experience:

Two Years Nurse Practitioner Preferred

Certification/Licensure:
