TheAdvanced Practice Provider (APP)evaluates,plansandprovidescareforpatientsinconsultationwithandunderdirect supervisionofthesupervisingphysician(s).TheAPPobtainsmedicalandpersonalhistories, performsphysicalexams,reviewsdiagnosticstudies,communicatesresultsandeducates patientsandfamilies.TheAPPprovidesfollow-uptreatmentsandcaretopatientsin accordancewithprotocolsestablishedbyphysicians. TheAPPmaintainseffective communication with patients, staff and physicians; provides patient care in a competent, professionalandcourteous manner.Mainarea offocusinurology specific to general urology and men's health.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Performs all duties in accordance with clinical, OSHA and infection control standards.
- Adheres to and follows, including but not limited to, infection control, biohazard waste, sterilization and disinfection, medication administration and storage of controlled substance policiesand procedures throughout the facility.
- Adheres to biohazard waste policy and procedure for proper disposal of biomedical waste.
- Obtains medical and personal histories and performs physical examinations on new and established patients.
- Provide and document direct treatment and management of health conditions.
- Initiates appropriate diagnostic testing and treatment of medical conditions.
- Analyzes and interprets laboratory and radiology results and evaluates the need for further assessment.
- Performs therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as indicated by training and experience.
- Provides follow-up and health maintenance care to align with established evidence-based practiceguidelines.
- Provides counseling and education regarding health-related issues.
- Documents clinical care of patient in electronic health record according to established guidelines.
- Delivers quality patient care and participates in continuous quality improvement processes and initiatives.
- Assist with training activities as needed.
- Maintains accuracy and productivity levels as established by department standards.
- Performs, organizes and streamlines operational tasks to reduce the potential for errors.
- Maintains patient safety and confidentiality at all times.
- Assigned location is UPNT Arlington but may be required to travel to other UPNT locations as assigned.
- AllotherdutiesasassignedbyPracticeAdministratorand/or supervising physician.
Work Experience:
- Minimumof1-3 yearsofhandsonclinicalexperienceworking withalicensedphysicianor associate practitioner preferred. Preference given to those with Urology experience.
- Minimumof1-3yearsofadministeringinjectionspreferred.
- Exceptionalcustomerservice skills andphoneetiquette.
- Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- ComputerproficiencyandpriorexperiencewithElectronicMedicalRecordspreferred.
- Abilitytoworkinafast-pacedenvironment.
Physical Requirements:
- Requiresfrequentliftingofpatientsandbending/carryingitemsweighingupto50pounds.
- Adequatephysicalabilityincludingsufficientmanualdexteritytoperformtherequisite
- healthcare services includingcomputerentry.
Education:
- Master'sdegree
- PhysicianAssistantlicensureinTexas and/or NursePractitionerlicensureinTexas.
- CPR/BLS certification
- All License and certification(s) must be current and maintained during employment.
