Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Fort Worth is looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their Urology team. Job Summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Department of Urology is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Urology team. This provider will work outpatient at Clearfork, Moncrief and JPS locations in Ft. Worth. Previous experience in Urology preferred.

Schedule

Outpatient weekday Monday - Friday. Veterans encouraged to apply.

Education and Experience

Education

Graduate of a master’s degree or higher from an ARC‑PA accredited Physician Assistant program, or Master’s degree or higher in nursing with completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Education Program. Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population.

Licensure and Certification

Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required; licensed by the Texas Physician Assistant Board. Or licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by Texas State Board of Nursing and authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing. Current applicable Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association or American Red Cross Life Support certification(s) as per UT Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice Providers.

Job Duties
  • Conduct and document comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations based on age and diagnosis, including psychological status.
  • Synthesize data and utilize evidence to develop, implement, and evaluate the patient plan of care, including ordering and interpreting laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic studies/results.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in technical/procedural skills, as appropriate and based on specialty and training.
  • Provide relevant management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients, families, and caregivers related to current care and preventive health measures.
  • Facilitate/participate in quality‑related initiatives and/or clinical research protocols through planned group processes, workshops, seminars, and staff meetings, to improve clinical and system practice performance.
  • Collaborate in research projects and protocols; and routinely apply evidence‑based best practices to patient care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
