Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health's St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma seeks a Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join a multidisciplinary team with VICU support. You will manage high-acuity patients, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with physicians across five hospital settings in a Level II Trauma Center.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current Washington ARNP or Physician Assistant license or active license before start.

• Fundamentals of Critical Care Support and Palliative Academy within first year.
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with physicians, staff, patients and families.
• Excellent communication and professionalism.
• Commitment to patient care team concept and privacy guidelines.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider, you will join our collegial healthcare team in Tacoma at St. Joseph Medical Center. As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with Board Certified physicians and a growing cohort of APPs, supported by a mature and innovative virtual ICU (VICU) that provides real-time monitoring and support. This role involves comprehensive patient management, from assessment and diagnosis to developing and executing treatment plans, performing critical invasive procedures, and ensuring continuity of care. This unique opportunity offers the chance to deliver high-acuity critical care across five diverse hospital settings, ranging from community hospitals to a tertiary-care medical center with advanced services including Cardiothoracic Surgery and Neurosurgery, and a Level II Trauma Center. Job Requirements

• Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Current Washington State ARNP or Physician Assistance license or have an active license prior to starting
• Washington license, ACLS, and DEA licensing required at the time of starting work
• Fundamentals of Critical Care Support and Palliative Academy in the first year of employment
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships with physicians, and hospital staff, patients and their families
• Excellent communication skills and professionalism
• Strong commitment to patient care team concept and privacy guidelines

Preferred

• Ventilator management, central venous and arterial line placement, intubation and Point of Care Ultrasound preferred.

Pay Range

$144,800 - $175,200 /year
