Job summary

Society of Emergency Medicine PAs (SEMPA) seeks an Urgent Care Advanced Practice Provider to join Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Washington. You will evaluate, diagnose, and manage non-life-threatening conditions with a team-driven approach aimed at quality care and timely patient flow.

The role requires PA degree and WA license, DEA/NPI with prescriptive authority, BLS, and strong communication. The position offers a guaranteed base salary, quarterly RVU bonuses, relocation assistance, and

Qualifications

  • PA degree and WA state license required.
  • PA certification with prescriptive authority.
  • DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers per AHA.
  • Strong clinical skills and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of urgent care patients.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans with families and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Provide education and connect patients/families with community resources.
  • Collaborate with other providers for coordinated care.
  • Stay current with urgent care research and best practices.
  • Hours: 8:00 AM–8:00 PM Mon-Fri and 8:00 AM–5:00 PM weekends (0.8 FTE).
  • Salary range: $98,032–$130,373 per year.

Every day you will provide compassionate and expert care, conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support the holistic well-being of patients and their families within Franciscan Medical Group.
To be successful in this role, you will be a skilled, licensed, and compassionate provider, possessing expertise in diagnosing and managing complex diseases, alongside strong communication abilities. You will also demonstrate a deep commitment to patient-centered care and the capacity to thrive within a collegial and supportive environment.

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients

  • Offer guidance and support to patients and families regarding educational resources and community services
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure a coordinated approach to care
  • Stay current with research and best practices in urgent care to provide evidence-based care
  • Hours are 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM M-F and 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM on weekends - 0.8 FTE Opportunity
  • Compensation ranges from $98,032 - $130,373 /year

Required
Job Requirements
  • Physician Assistant Degree
  • PA Certification
  • Active Washington State License in good standing with no restrictions
  • DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certifications by the American Heart Association
  • Strong clinical skills and experience diagnosing urgent care type issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to all patients and families
Preferred
  • 1 year experience following training
