Endeavor Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APN/PA) for GI/Advanced Therapeutics within a hospitalist and clinic setting in Skokie, IL. The position is full-time and hybrid, with weekday hours and no weekends or on-call requirements.

The role involves managing pancreaticobiliary disease patients under physician supervision, performing exams, orders, and treatments, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• IL Advanced Practice Licensure (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) Licensure required
• Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required
• BLS/CPR certification required

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients with pancreaticobiliary diseases in inpatient and clinic settings under physician supervision
• Assists physicians with difficult and complicated therapeutic cases
• Obtains detailed histories, performs exams, orders imaging and labs, interprets results
• Instructs patients on therapies and perioperative instructions
• Maintains records and progress notes and follows patients through treatment course
• Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies per protocol
• Collaborates with physicians and health-care team to achieve optimal outcomes
• Promotes wellness and preventive care across settings

Position: Advanced Practice Provider (APN/PA) – GI/Advanced Therapeutics– Medical Group

Location: Skokie Hospital, Skokie, IL

Contract: Full-Time (average of 40 hours/wk.)

Hours: Monday – Friday between 8AM – 5PM. No weekends, holidays, or call. Hybrid role (inpatient and clinic).

Required Travel: Evanston, Glenview, Highland Park, and Vernon Hills.

Hourly Pay Range: $56.25 - $72.12 – the hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Job Description

• Under the direction of the collaborating physician(s), provides care to patients with pancreaticobiliary diseases in an inpatient and clinic setting.
• Assists physicians with difficult and complicated therapeutic cases.
• Obtains detailed history and performs physical examinations, orders imaging, lab tests and diagnostic procedures and interprets results.
• Instructs patients on the prescribed therapeutic regimen and pre/post operative instructions.
• Maintains records and writes progress notes on status, treatments and procedures.
• Follows patients through their course of treatment in the clinic and hospital setting.
• Collaborates with physicians and the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies as appropriate.
• Demonstrates evidence-based practice.
• Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of practice in the specialty.
• Assess the learning needs of patients and families across the continuum.
• Employs strategies, interventions and teaching to promote, maintain, and improve health.
• Provide comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnosis, and prescribe treatments under the protocol in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease.
• Promotes wellness and prevent illness and injury in various settings for individuals, families, and communities.
• Works autonomously and in interdisciplinary teams as resources and consultants.
• Positively contributes to safety outcomes and promoting high-quality patient experience.
• Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of service line goals.
• Supports the strategic plan of the organization.
• Adheres to all Endeavor Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• License: Advanced Practice Licensure (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) Licensure in the State of IL required; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required.
• Education: Completion of Master’s level program in specialty area.
• Certification: BLS/CPR certification required.
• Experience: Prior APN/PA experience preferred.
