Endeavor Health Medical Group in Skokie, IL seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (APN/PA) in General Gastroenterology. The role is full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday 8AM–5PM, with no weekends or on-call. Provides patient care under physicians' direction, coordination in clinic and hospital settings.

Requires IL APN/PA licensure, DEA, Master's in GI specialty, BLS; GI outpatient experience preferred; travel to Evanston, Glenview, Highland Park, Vernon Hills may be required.

Qualifications

• IL Advanced Practice Licensure (APN) or PA licensure in the State of IL required; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required.
• Master’s level program in specialty area completed.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• GI experience through work or student clinical rotation required.
• Preferred: outpatient clinic experience

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients under the direction of collaborating physicians.
• Obtain detailed history, perform exams, order imaging/labs and interpret results.
• Instruct patients on therapeutic regimens and pre/post operative instructions.

Job Description

Exciting opportunity to join Endeavor Health Medical Group Department of General Gastroenterology! Under the direction of the collaborating physician(s), provides care to patients. Obtains detailed history and performs physical examinations, orders imaging, lab tests and diagnostic procedures and interprets results. Instructs patients on the prescribed therapeutic regimen and pre/post operative instructions. Maintains records and writes progress notes on status, treatments and procedures. Follows patients through their course of treatment in the clinic and hospital setting. Collaborates with physicians and the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies as appropriate. Demonstrates evidence-based practice. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of practice in the specialty. Assesses the learning needs of patients and families across the continuum. Employs strategies, interventions and teaching to promote, maintain, and improve health. Provide comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnosis, and prescribe treatments under the protocol in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease. Promotes wellness and prevent illness and injury in various settings for individuals, families, and communities. Works autonomously and in interdisciplinary teams as resources and consultants. Positively contributes to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of service line goals. Supports the strategic plan of the organization. Adheres to all Endeavor Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• License: Advanced Practice Licensure (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) Licensure in the State of IL required; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required
• Education: Completion of Master’s level program in specialty area
• Certification: BLS/CPR certification required
• Experience: Prior experience in GI through work or student clinical rotation required.
• Preferred Qualifications Experience working in an outpatient clinic setting
