Job summary

SSM Health Dean Medical Group in Madison, WI seeks an experienced Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our Critical Care Intensivists on the campus of SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital.

The role emphasizes high-level critical care with a focus on patient admission, treatment, and cross-coverage within a 12-bed Medical ICU, 15-bed Surgical ICU, and 12-bed Progressive Care Unit. Shifts run 6 PM–6 AM with 2–5 consecutive days.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of current Critical Care practice experience as a PA.
• Certified PA (PA-C) is required.

Responsibilities

• Shifts are 6 PM- 6 AM, with 2-5 shifts on consecutive days.
• Overnight telehealth coverage for other SSM Health Wisconsin hospitals.
• Clinical responsibilities include admission, treatment, and cross-coverage duties.
• Perform central line placement (venous and arterial), ETT intubation, and chest tube placement.
• Close collaboration with ICU nurses, respiratory therapists, and intensivists.
• Training in procedures and building advanced critical care knowledge and skills.

SSM Health Dean Medical Group, a 500-physician multi-specialty group, is actively recruiting for an experienced Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our team of Critical Care Intensivists. The practice is conveniently based on the campus of SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years of current Critical Care practice experience as a or Physician Assistant (PA).
• Certified PA.
• 3-5 years of prior critical care nursing practice experience with CCRN certification required for NP applicants.
• Ability to obtain PA licensure in Wisconsin.

The Opportunity

• Shifts are 6 PM- 6 AM, with 2-5 shifts on consecutive days.
