Job summary

SSM Health-SLUCare seeks an experienced advanced practice provider to join our cardiac stepdown service line in Saint Louis, MO. This inpatient role focuses on patients transitioning from the Cardiac Surgery ICU to the step-down setting.

Responsibilities include detailed cardiac assessments, plan of care development, and participation in rounds, discharge planning and education. Weekend rotation and no night calls are part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Cardiac Surgery experience preferred.
• New graduate PAs welcome with cardiac surgery experience or new grad NPs with RN/clinical cardiac surgery experience.
• Seeking Nurse Practitioners with Acute Care certification or Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C).

• Care for patients transitioning from Cardiac Surgery ICU to step-down; develop plan of care.
• Perform detailed assessments and monitor cardiac status; manage pre/post-op period.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary rounds, care coordination, discharge planning and education.
• Chest tube/pacing wire removal and wound care.
• 3–4 expected shifts of 12–13 hours per week with weekend rotation 1:5 and holidays.

SSM Health-SLUCare is seeking an experienced advanced practice provider to join our growing service line. SLUCare represents the academic medical practice of Saint Louis University, known for leading-edge care and groundbreaking research. This inpatient position will work in the cardiac stepdown unit.

Job Highlights

• Provide clinical care to patients transitioning from the Cardiac Surgery ICU to the step-down setting; evaluate and develop plan of care for new patient consults.
• Perform detailed assessments, monitor/evaluate cardiac status, manage patient through the pre-post-op period, initiate/refine medical management, participate in multi-disciplinary rounds, care coordination, discharge planning and education, chest tube/pacing wire removal, wound care.
• Anticipate (3) 12-13-hour shifts per week with weekend rotation of 1:5 and holiday rotation.
• No Call/No Nights.

Qualifications

• Cardiac Surgery experience preferred
