Job Summary
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) cares for patients within their scope of training and approved agreement, as outlined by their governing board. They work collaboratively with other providers and staff to ensure efficient patient flow and high patient satisfaction. This position involves working directly with a franchised business location, with specific duties and benefits varying between franchises.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive health histories, review patient records, develop medical assessments, and order appropriate laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies based on patient complaints, race, sex, and physical condition.
- Formulate medical and nursing diagnoses, initiate therapy, or refer patients to appropriate healthcare facilities, agencies, or physicians.
- Implement emergency measures and stabilization in critical situations such as cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, convulsions, poisoning, and allergic reactions.
- Interpret and analyze patient data to determine patient status and management plans.
- Provide health care instructions and promote health among patients and their families.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills with staff, patients, and families.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
- Board certification through ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA (preferably with 1 year ER/UC experience).
- Active and current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure in the practice state, including DEA and state-controlled substance certificates.
- Ability to multitask and work independently.
