Job summary

SMG System Medical Group in Canonsburg, PA seeks a qualified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to join our team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care, coordinating treatment plans, and educating patients.

The successful candidate will have a Master’s in Nursing, active RN/APRN licensure, and national APRN certification. We offer a collaborative environment with 40-hour weeks and exempt status.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
  • National Certification by APRN Certification Centers.
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an RN and APRN in West Virginia.
  • BLS certification with ALS/ACLS training as required by department.

Responsibilities

  • Administers or orders diagnostic tests such as x-ray and POClab tests.
  • Examines patients to obtain information about their condition.
  • Instructs and counsels patients about prescribed regimens and health maintenance.
  • Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
  • Makes diagnosis and treatment decisions for patients.
  • Records patient medical data using the Meditech EMR.
  • Performs procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care.
  • Prescribes therapy or medication electronically when available.
  • Educates and coordinates with medical assistants during care and treatment.
  • Provides emergency support following policies and procedures.
  • Communicates with staff and administration to support operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE
  • Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’sDegree in Nursing
  • National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia
  • Basic Life Support Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support (ALS)/Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)training at the discretion of the department.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE
  • Acute care, surgical, critical care, or trauma experience

  • Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
  • Makes diagnosis and decisions about management and treatment of patients.
  • Obtains, compiles and records patient medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examination utilizing the Meditech EMR.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care and infection management.
  • Prescribes therapy or medication – electronically when available.
  • Educates, instructs and coordinates activities with the medical assistant(s) as needed during the care and treatment of patients.
  • Provides emergency support following established policies and procedures.
  • Communicates with staff, medical staff and administration in support of operations.
