The SMG System Medical Group in Keyser, West Virginia seeks an experienced Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive patient care under physician supervision. Qualifications include a Master’s in Nursing, WV RN/APRN licensure or eligibility, and national APRN certification. BLS and ALS/ACLS training are required or as per department policy.

• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia
• Basic Life Support Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support (ALS)/Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training at the discretion of the department.

• Examines patients to obtain information about their physical condition.
• Instructs and counsels patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
• Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
• Makes diagnosis and decisions about management and treatment of patients.
• Obtains, compiles and records patient medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examination utilizing the Meditech EMR.
• Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care and infection management.
• Prescribes therapy or medication – electronically when available.
• Educates, instructs and coordinates activities with the medical assistant(s) as needed during the care and treatment of patients.
• Provides emergency support following established policies and procedures.
• Communicates with staff, medical staff and administration in support of operations.

Additional Job Description

Provide healthcare services, under the supervision of a physician. Conduct complete physicals, provide treatment, and counsel patients. May prescribe medicine. Maintains an effective professional relationship with patients, families, co-workers, medical staff, and administration and works to create a culture of service excellence.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
