Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an APRN in West Virginia.
• BLS Certification with ALS/ACLS training as required by the department.

Responsibilities

• Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray and POClab tests.
• Examines patients to obtain information about their physical condition.
• Instructs and counsels patients about prescribed regimens and health maintenance.
• Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
• Makes diagnoses and treatment decisions for patients.
• Obtains and records patient data in the EMR (Meditech).
• Performs procedures like injections and wound care; manages infections.
• Prescribes therapy or medication electronically when available.
• Educates and coordinates activities with medical assistants during care.
• Provides emergency support per policies; communicates with staff.

Working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, the APP assesses, diagnoses, treats, and manages patients within their scope of practice and area of specialty. The APP is responsible for delivering evidence-based care, promoting positive patient outcomes, maintaining professional and regulatory standards, and supporting the clinical, educational, and operational goals of the department and organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
