Job summary

SMG System Medical Group in Canonsburg, PA, is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional for Urgent Care at Southpointe. The role involves patient assessment, diagnostic testing, and management of acute presentations in a fast-paced clinic.

Requires a Master’s Degree in Nursing, national APRN certification, and current WV licensure eligibility. BLS with ALS/ACLS training is required; 40 hours weekly; experience in acute/trauma care preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
• Basic Life Support Certification with ALS/ACLS training as required by department.

Responsibilities

• Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray and POC lab tests.
• Examines patients to obtain information about their physical condition.
• Instructs and counsels patients about prescribed regimens, health maintenance, and daily living.
• Interprets diagnostic test results.
• Makes diagnosis and treatment decisions for patients.
• Uses Meditech EMR to record patient data.
• Performs injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care.
• Prescribes therapy or medication electronically when available.
• Educates and coordinates with medical assistants during patient care.
• Provides emergency support following established policies.
