Job summary

Origin Travel Nurses seeks a Pain Management Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in San Diego, CA, for a 12-month engagement. The role supports a pain management practice with both medical management and procedural exposure in a collaborative, team-based environment.

The ideal candidate holds an active California NP/PA license with DEA, BLS/ACLS, and 1–2 years of related clinical experience. EHR experience (eClinicalWorks or Epic) and bilingual English/Spanish are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Active California NP/PA license required.
• DEA registration required or able to obtain.
• BLS/ACLS certification required.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred (pain management, orthopedics, neurology, anesthesia, or related field).
• Experience with EHR systems; eClinicalWorks or Epic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations including history, physical exams, and review of diagnostic studies.
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Prescribe and manage medications, including opioid and non-opioid therapies, in compliance with California regulations and CURES requirements.
• Assist with or perform interventional procedures such as trigger point injections and joint injections (training available).
• Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and studies including X-ray, MRI, CT, and EMG/NCS.
• Monitor patient progress and document care within the electronic health record (eClinicalWorks).
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care including referrals to physical therapy, behavioral health, and specialty care.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and self-management strategies.
• Participate in case conferences, quality initiatives, and continuing education.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and clinical guidelines.
