Job summary

Morehouse School of Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practice Partner (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the MHC OB/GYN team in Atlanta, GA. The APP will diagnose, order and interpret tests, prescribe treatments, and manage acute and chronic illnesses in collaboration with health care professionals.

Qualified applicants hold a Georgia NP or PA license and current BLS certification; 2–5 years of OB/GYN experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Georgia License as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• 2–5 years of OB/GYN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory work.

Description of Job Duty

The Advanced Practice Partner ( APP ) (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant) will primarily perform diagnosing, orders, conducts, supervises and interprets diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease.

The APP promotes health and the prevention of illness and injury. The APP practices autonomously and in collaboration with other health care professional to treat and manage patient health problems. The role of the APP includes, direct patient/family care, consultation, research, patient/families/ groups/ and communities advocacy, performance improvement, and leadership & professional development.
