Job summary

Absolute Awakenings is seeking a licensed Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) to provide psychiatric services to clients remotely. This role is based in New Jersey with duties performed during agreed office hours.

You will complete Admission Notes, Nursing Assessments, and Pre-Screen Testing; conduct psychiatric evaluations; transcribe physician orders; collaborate with the Medical Doctor or Psychiatrist; and facilitate referrals using standard forms.

Qualifications

• Must be a NJ licensed Advanced Practice Nurse with a psych specialty.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in behavioral health or addiction care.
• Current CDS prescribing certification and valid DEA registration.
• Graduate degree in nursing from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Complete Admission Note, Nursing Assessment, and Pre-Screen Testing.
• Perform psychiatric evaluations and document visits in EMR.
• Transcribe physician orders and implement medical protocols as ordered.
• Consult with Medical Doctor and/or Psychiatrist as needed.

Job Description

The APN shall be a New Jersey licensed advanced practice nurse who provides psychiatric services to the clients of the Facility during office hours mutually agreed to in advance by the Facility and the APN.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in completing the following documentation: Admission Note, Nursing Assessment, Pre-Screen Testing.
• Performs Psychiatric Evaluations for clients including screening, and documenting in EMR each visit.
• Transcribes Physician’s Orders and Implements all Medical Protocols as ordered.
• Confers with and assists the Medical Doctor and/or Psychiatrist.
• Makes appropriate referrals using referral forms.

Professional Skills

• Graduate Degree from an accredited college or university with at least a degree in nursing
• Certified by the Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Nurse
• Current and valid licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse with a psych specialty in the State of New Jersey
• At least two (2) years of nursing experience in the role of Advanced Practice Nurse treating individuals with behavioral health and addiction concerns
• Current and valid certification to prescribe Controlled Dangerous Substance and Current and valid registration with Drug Enforcement Administration.
