Job summary

Hong Kong Children’s Hospital invites an Advanced Practice Nurse (General) in Paediatrics to lead and supervise a nursing team within a clinical unit, shaping care standards and clinical protocols.

The role requires ongoing delivery of advanced patient care, development of pathways, and acting as a clinical expert across the service. A Master’s in nursing or related field is preferred and strong leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (Part I) practicing certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong.
• Qualification in advanced nursing specialty.*
• A degree in Nursing or equivalent.
• 5 years or more post-registration experience in healthcare, with at least 3 years in related specialty.

Pay

HK64,518 to HK$89,978 [HGPS point 26 to 33A] per month including Monthly Allowance

Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a nursing team within a clinical unit.
• Develop professional nursing standard, care protocol and clinical pathway.
• Provide complex patient care in respective clinical specialty / department stated above.
• Acts as a resource and referral agent on clinical expertise.
• Manage nurse-led services to provide specialized patient care.
• Train and supervise nurse learners in advanced nursing specialty training.
• Initiate and participate in evidenced-based practice and nursing research.
• Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the service.

Entry Requirements

• Holder of a valid Registered Nurse (Part I) practicing certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong.
• Qualification in advanced nursing specialty*.
• A degree in Nursing or equivalent.
• 5 years or more post-registration experience in healthcare, of which at least 3 years is in the related specialty.

* Qualification in advanced nursing specialty refers to recognized post-registration certificate, or post-graduate certificate/diploma course in nursing specialty, or Master in nursing# or related discipline with considerable coverage on a relevant nursing specialty. #Only post-registration Master in nursing programmes are accepted
