Job summary

Advocate Health in Illinois seeks a skilled nurse practitioner to assess, diagnose, and manage patient care across age groups and clinical conditions. You will order and interpret diagnostics, prescribe treatments, and collaborate with physicians and the broader healthcare team.

You will provide health promotion and disease prevention counseling, maintain accurate EMR documentation, and ensure cost-effective, evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nursing is required.
• Active RN and APRN licenses in state of practice.
• Active national board certification in area of clinical practice.
• DEA registration prior to hire.
• Illinois Controlled Substance License if practicing in Illinois.
• BLS and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP as required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, diagnoses, and determines treatment plans appropriate for age, acuity and clinical condition.
• Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic studies and prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
• Manages conditions based on evidence, cost-effectiveness, and risk-benefit assessment.
• Provides health promotion, disease prevention, and disease management counseling for patients and families.
• Works as part of an interdisciplinary team and refers to physicians or other team members as needed.
• Maintains accurate EMR documentation and compliant coding/billing.
• Facilitates coordinated care and clear communication among healthcare team and community agencies.
• Performs office or hospital procedures within scope of privileges.
