Job summary

The Indian Health Service seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide primary care to American Indian and Alaska Native communities. You will assess patients, diagnose illnesses, and develop treatment plans in a role focused on compassionate, evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• Requires graduate or higher degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Active NP licensure in the United States and applicable State Nurse Practice Act.
• Eligibility to practice as a Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority.

Responsibilities

• Analyze patient histories and diagnostic information to inform diagnoses.
• Develop evidence-based treatment plans and standards of care.
• Diagnose or treat acute illnesses, infections, and injuries.
• Prescribe medications with regard to efficacy, safety, and dosage.
• Educate patients on self-management and prevention strategies.
