Qualifications

  • Graduate or higher-level degree in nursing or an advanced practice specialty from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Current, active, unrestricted RN license; advanced practice nursing positions require a specialty license appropriate to the clinical area.
  • At least 1 year of specialized nursing experience equivalent to the next lower federal grade level.
  • Successful completion of a federal background investigation as a condition of employment.
  • Must meet U.S. citizenship, Selective Service registration (where applicable), and federal E‑Verify eligibility. Conditions of employment include probationary period, rotating shifts, and on‑call duties as outlined by the position.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret patient histories, symptoms, physical findings, and diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
  • Develop treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines.
  • Diagnose or treat acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections, and injuries.
  • Prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, dosage, and frequencies.
  • Educate patients about self‑management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to individual circumstances.

Education

Graduate degree in nursing or advanced practice specialty
Current, active RN license; APN specialty license
