Job summary

UNM Hospitals in New Mexico seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to support the SRMC PreAnesthesia Clinic, handling preoperative assessment and optimization for diverse patient ages.

The role includes patient evaluation, treatment planning, team collaboration with anesthesia and surgery, and ongoing education for patients and families. Sign-on and relocation support are available, with a full-time, days-shift expectation.

Qualifications

• Program graduate credentialing as an advanced practice provider.
• Advanced Nurse or Physician Assistant licensure/credentialing required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and develop treatment plans; follow-up and evaluate patient within scope of practice.
• Perform comprehensive patient history and physical exams for procedures or admissions.
• Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Educate patients/families about preventative care and prescribed treatments.
• Accurately document patient care and communicate with health care team.
• Serve as a role model through professional conduct and leadership.
• Support education for staff and participate in clinical research as applicable.
• Contribute to patient safety by following and improving policies and processes.
