Job summary

US Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a GS-13 Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for the Inpatient Mental Health service at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center in West Virginia. The CPS works independently with prescribing privileges under the local scope of practice.

Applicants must have ACPE-accredited pharmacy education, a valid U.S. license, and English proficiency; experience in medication management and interprofessional collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ACPE-accredited College/School with BS Pharmacy or PharmD.
• Foreign grads must have FPGEC certification including TOEFL iBT.
• Full, current, unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a U.S. state/territory/DC.
• English proficiency in speaking and writing as required by VA policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level clinical pharmacy services with prescribing privileges per CPP scope.
• Review medication orders for safety and effectiveness; advise providers accordingly.
• Perform medication reconciliation, drug information, and formulary management tasks.
• Lead therapeutic plans, monitor outcomes, and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams.
