Job summary

Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains seeks an Advanced Practice Clinician Training Specialist to support the Clinical Training Department. This role focuses on training, onboarding, and evaluating clinicians, with travel to PPRM health centers as needed.

Ideal candidates hold a nursing master’s and CO/NM licensure eligibility, plus 3–5 years in Women’s Health. The position is part-time with benefits and requires flexibility to meet training needs.

Qualifications

  • Masters or better in Nursing required.
  • 3–5 years of Women’s Health experience.
  • Ability to become licensed NP/CNM in states served by PPRM.
  • Will support APC Lead Trainer in developing and delivering training content.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support Clinical Training Department activities.
  • Perform clinician evaluations and onboarding for PPRM clinicians.
  • Train clinicians on clinical and documentation skills, including EHR usage.
  • Assist in scheduling training across health centers and ensure compliance.

Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) Training Specialist

Abortion Care: At PPRM, we all work in abortion care. This role supports abortion care through direct clinical triage, patient education, and follow-up, ensuring timely and empathetic support to those navigating abortion services.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Current Colorado or New Mexico state licensure, if an internal hire Level 2 clinician or above,
  • Must have at least 3-5 years of experience in Women’s Health.
  • Ability to become licensed NP/CNM in clinical practice in all the states where PPRM has health centers.
  • Supports the APC Lead Trainer in the maintenance, development and delivery of training programs and content as needed.
  • Supports the training team and Health Center Managers in the creation of training schedules.
  • Provides administrative support and logistics for training programs.
  • Ability to travel by plane and/or car to all PPRM health centers as needed.
  • Demonstrated record of excellent clinical judgment.
  • Comfort working within a protocol based clinical care system.
  • Extensive knowledge of PPRM’s Medical Standards and Guidelines preferred
  • Experience working as an APN II or III within PPRM or other PP affiliate is preferred
  • Able to travel as required. Valid driver’s license and insurance required.

What You'll Do:

APC Training 80% of the role

  • Assists with program coordination and support for the Clinical Training Department
  • Performs clinician evaluations for level
  • Trains and onboards new PPRM clinicians on clinical skills, specialty skills, charting/documentation, and medical follow-up on an assigned basis, including documentation in an Electronic Health Record.
  • Trains and onboards incoming and current PPRM clinicians as needed in accordance with skill provisions at all health centers in line with our MS&Gs and current medical best practices.
  • Serves as the proctor to train clinicians on new and updated services.
  • Serves as a resource in any area of documented expertise.
  • Serves as an APC Mentor when indicated and assigned
  • Provides information, technical assistance and training for non-licensed staff and licensed staff on as needed.

Administrative Duties 20% of the role

  • Participates in Clinical Training Team meetings
  • Participates in the hiring process for new PPRM clinicians as needed.
  • Works collaboratively with Quality Management team.
  • Maintains records in compliance with established program of new training progress with a strong focus on compliance.
  • Supports the Clinical Training program manager in the maintenance, development and delivery of training programs and content as needed.
  • Supports the Clinical Training Program Manager and Health Center Managers in the creation of training schedules.
  • Provides administrative support and logistics for training programs.

Salary Range: $52.56 - 75.43/hour
*Although our full pay range is included above, the budgeted hiring range for new hires is $52.56 - $65.78/hour and based on related professional experience

Schedule: Part-time; ~37.5 hour/week; Benefits Eligible; Ideal candidates are able to work a flexible schedule to include weekdays, evening, weekends, and holidays as the business needs arise.
