About Women’s Health Center of Maryland (WHCMD)

Women’s Health Center of Maryland was founded in 2023 after Roe v. Wade was overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court, ending half a century of legal precedence protecting a person’s right to access legal abortion. Recognizing the need for more abortion clinics located in key access states like Maryland, WHCMD opened its doors in September 2023. We are a nonprofit, independent sexual and reproductive health clinic that offers medication and procedural abortion, annual exams, breast/chest and cervical cancer screenings, contraception, STI testing and treatment, and gender-affirming hormone therapy. Our mission is to provide reproductive health care that respects the autonomy, choices, and dignity of each patient we serve. WHCMD is in Mountain Maryland, less than five miles from the border of West Virginia.
