The Advanced Paraeducator for Behavior and Instruction at St. Cloud Area School District 742 provides real-time intervention and implements behavior support plans to help students succeed in general or resource education settings.

Key duties include supporting IEP and Behavior Support Plans, supervising students, collecting progress data, and assisting with feeding and daily care as needed, while maintaining confidentiality and safety in a 10-month, hourly position.

Qualifications

• HQ status demonstrated through 60 college credits (or AA/AS degree) with a GPA of 2.0+; or passing score on the Paraeducator Exam.
• Bilingual Spanish or Somali are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing IEP and Behavior Support Plans and follow through with programs.
• Assist with student physical/behavior management and non-violent crisis intervention as needed.
• Supervise students during instructional and non-instructional activities.
• Observe and report student progress to teachers.
• Collect student data on academics and behavior under teacher direction.
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy of student data.
• Assist with feeding, lifting/positioning, bathroom needs, personal hygiene, and swimming as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Respond to behavior in real time and support student success in the classroom.
• Support academic/behavior programming and implement accommodations per staff.
