Job summary

St. Cloud School District 742 is seeking an Instructional Paraeducator. This hourly, 10-month position involves assisting and encouraging students under professional direction and helping prepare lessons for classroom, Resource Center, computer lab, and occasional media support.

Requirements include High School or GED, HQ status demonstrated by college credits, AA/AS, or passing the Paraeducator Exam. Preferred: similar experience and bilingual ability.

Qualifications

• HQ status demonstrated through specified options (HQ)
• 60 college credits (or AA/AS degree) with GPA 2.0 or higher
• Passing score on the Paraeducator Exam (contact district for information)
• High School diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• Supervise/assist students during instructional activities
• Observe student behavior and enforce rules and expectations
• Promote district rules, policies, mission and core values
• Assist in creating and maintaining a positive learning environment
• Maintain student data confidentiality and privacy laws
• Observe and communicate student progress to teachers
• Perform clerical duties to support staff or teachers
• Serve as a resource for students, staff and volunteers
